Ether J. - "I've just finished this course on Nebula and I can't praise it enough. I'm not a jazz player, but am a musician who performs in other genres. I've made learning jazz one of my top goals, but haven't made much progress. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, etc. I am so tired of these!! In this course, Aimee takes a musical approach by focusing on motifs. This is brilliant! I have learned so much from these lessons that I just had to write about them. I now have an approach that I can understand to do my own solos. Thank you Aimee! You are the best!"

My friend and student, Brenda Martin came over for a lesson today and we worked on Altman/Lawrence tune, "All Or Nothing At All." Here are the topics addressed and time stamps so you can easily navigate through the video, however it's quite a journey and I would recommend watching it from start to finish, to understand the context and...the journey.
My friend, Eric Hagstrom was over at the house the other day, and gave my 11 year old, Louis a beginning brush technique lesson. It only took a couple of minutes, and he was able to provide a decent-sounding drum accompaniment to our trio. I'm on vacation now, but I wanted to share this footage with you.

We take a look at John Scofield's Grammy-nominated solo over the Hank Williams classic, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry and learn a quick augmented lick from him! Do yourself a favor and check out the album, "Country For Old Men."It's wonderful.
Without spending a dime, there are several things you can do to help your kids get a start in music while they are young. Let me share a few things that have worked for me!
This is a Nolte Family Original! We each wrote some so it's a real one-of-a-kind and this holiday season, we wanted to put a little Chipmunk spin on it! Thanks to everyone who drew illustrations for the video. Watch for their names in the credits at the end, and watch to the very end for a hilarious surprise! Also, thanks to my boys who leant their lip synch talents to the video. Also, enjoy a free "transcription" of my VERY Chipmunky scat solo! Much Love from all of us and high fives from California!!
