Diatonic Mediant And Submediant Modulations

Diatonic Mediant And Submediant Modulations

Temporary modulations to the mediant and submediant are very common in jazz and popular music. It's important to learn to recognize them when they occur, hear the difference between them and know how to predict them when playing chords by ear.

We will look at examples from:

  • Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas 2:51
  • Yesterday 5:31 Georgia On My Mind 7:08
  • I Thought About You 7:55
  • My Romance 8:23
  • There Will Never Be Another You 11:06
  • Moon River 12:17
