Once in a while, I suppose I might rant a little bit. This is something that has been troubling me, and I needed to say what I am feeling about it. I think the future of vocal jazz is in trouble, unless we remember the importance of improvisation.
It doesn't matter what instrument you play or what kind of music you specialize in. We all want to keep our gigs! Have a little fun with me as I tell you all the things I have learned over the years about how to keep your gig!
