NOT Getting Featured On iTunes!
Racking up pre-sales was enough to get me to number 1 on the iTunes Charts, but it wasn't enough to get me featured. What's the big secret, iTunes? And why can't I find it on THE WHOLE INTERNET?
After publishing my video yesterday about my frustrations with iTunes, my album is back on the iTunes Charts at #6 today. I’m so grateful for everyone that supports musicians and pays for music. But also, if you watch my video, you’ll learn that it only took 5 sales in one day to get me to number 6 today. One more purchase and I’d likely be number 1. That’s the state of the music business today. Crazy, isn’t it?
I pay $9 for Spotify each month and listen to a lot of music that way, but any time someone I love and admire puts work out there, I do pay the 9.99 and purchase it. It feels good to give support to amazing art, AND you can write off those purchases on your tax returns if you’re a musician too because you’re bettering yourself - honing your craft by listening. Thanks to everyone for supporting music in whatever way works for you. I’d love it if you could comment with links to the albums you have purchased this year so far...the ones you have “worn out the grooves” on!
