Ether J. - "I've just finished this course on Nebula and I can't praise it enough. I'm not a jazz player, but am a musician who performs in other genres. I've made learning jazz one of my top goals, but haven't made much progress. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, etc. I am so tired of these!! In this course, Aimee takes a musical approach by focusing on motifs. This is brilliant! I have learned so much from these lessons that I just had to write about them. I now have an approach that I can understand to do my own solos. Thank you Aimee! You are the best!"

I've loved this song for a long time. About a year ago, I had the idea while I was driving to do the song with a 6/8 Afro Cuban-influenced feel. I recently decided to finish arranging it and record it. I play piano, guitar, and sing and I also did all the mixing and mastering on my own this time which is something I'm getting more and more comfortable with. I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism on that front if you have some. I'd like to dedicated this to my brother-in-law who IS a lineman, my sister and their girls.
Another extended practice (I have a whole playlist if you're interested) session video for you! I use a backing track from the iReal Pro app (this time with "Rhodes 2", accoustic bass and very little reverb - and try to develop my ideas as I play 25 choruses! I hope you enjoy it!
David Bennett (of David Bennett Piano) and I decided to each make a video about the influence of jazz on popular music. Here's my take on it!
Just me, skating around, painting a picture of what it's like to be a gigging musician in a relatively normal world. Mike Scott's track, Rondo from his new album, "Collecting Things" is the backing music for this video. Check him out everywhere. One of my favorite guitarists in the whole world! https://www.guitaristmikescott.com/
Diving into one of the greatest albums of all time, Kind Of Blue, we explore 10 things about Miles Davis' playing that will help you get to know his sound and identify him in the future.
Looking at many examples of swing, mainstream and latin jazz, I attempt to answer the question, "How important is it to have perfect time?" All videos cited in this video are listed below with time stamps. I suggest checking them ALL out!
Each day for 30 days, I released a new “piano yoga” video in the hopes that we can explore key areas of music theory and get to know the piano better together.
